How To Prevent Programs From Loading During Startup |
Registry
Run
Registry Run is commands used to install links to the Startup folder so that Windows will load them up automatically when booting up. Well, that's okay if those programs are those that you require quick access to all the time. However, quite a few programs out there do nothing but sap resources right from boot up till shut down. If you would like to remove these programs so that they won't load up and remain in the background (tray) after boot up, here's how you can remove them. |

Startup Programs

-
Open up Registry Editor (Start Menu -> Run -> regedit).
In Registry Editor, go to My Computer -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Run. -
Also go to My Computer -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Run. You will see a screen similar to the example below.
- Select the program you want removed, right click and choose Delete. In the example below, the Pop- Up Stopper tray application loaded will be deleted and not start anymore.
- Once removed, Windows will no longer load this program at start up.
- Close Registry Editor and restart Windows for the changes to take effect.
- You can do this with any programs you do not want to start up when Windows starts.
- Now the last thing you have to do is check the start up folder on your start bar and remove what you don't want to start up when windows starts.
